Andorra 2 Euro 2016 25 Years Radio and Television

Radio and Television have only a short history in Andorra. At the end of 1989, the Andorran RTVA = Radio i Televisio d'Andorra was founded. The RTVA is a public broadcaster, in Andorra no commercial channels are known. The first radio broadcasts were in 1990/1991 and the first television broadcasts were in 1995. Radio amateurs have been allowed to broadcast legally for a longer period, their callsigns start with C31. 2016 is the 25th anniversary of the first public signals that were broadcast from Andorra. To commemorate this Andorra has issued a special 2 Euro coin. On the face of the coin is an image of a microphone and a satellite dish. Above is the year 2016 and the country name of Andorra. In a circle around the image is the text 25th Aniversari de Radio I Televisio d'Andorra. The coin is presented in a luxury numbered package that shows an analogue microphone.
