Product Description
This coin is the eighth coin in the series of 10 coins with the theme "Bundesland". A Bundesland is a province in Austria. The Bundesland Burgenland is the eighth coin of this series. Burgenland is located in the east of Austria. Burgenland was still known as "Duits-Westhongarije" (German West Hungary) until 1921. Until today, as well as the German language, local languages are also spoken in the province. It is a predominantly landed country, but the great lake, the Neusiedler lake with its surrounding reeds is well-known. Burgenland is also well-known for its wine-growing. Traditionally, the Bundesland coins select a drawing from a lower secondary school pupil. The winning drawing is made by Leonie Schollenberger and on her beautiful drawing one sees everything Burgenland offers - a wine bottle and glass on a barrel, the castle Esterhazy, and a village with a church. The traditional Stork is not missing on this coin. On the value side of the coin are two spoonbills standing in the water, one of which has ca ught a frog. Additionally there are hills with reeds and a jetty. The church spires of the small town Rust are also depicted. At the top of the coin is the text æRepublik ÖesterreichÆ and on the left is the value of 10 Euro along with the text "Neusiedlersee". The quality of this beautiful copper coin is UNC and the issue is 130,000 copies.
