Belgium 2 Euro 2016 Child Focus

The Royal Mint of Belgium has issued a special 2 Euro coin in cooperation with Child Focus. This is due to the International Day of Missed Children, which takes place on 25 May each year. Child Focus is a foundation dedicated to missing and sexually exploited children. The Royal Mint of Belgium was unfortunately allowed to strike only 1 million copies of the coin. Of these 200,000 specimens are made available to the coin collectors. The remaining 800,000 coins will be mixed with old coins and therefore the quality will be no better. On this Belgian coin Liam Vanden Branden is depicted. Liam disappeared in 1996 as a toddler of 2.5 years old and was never found again. At the top of the coin the country name Belgium name is shown in its three official languages (French, Dutch and German), the year 2016 is also shown. At the bottom of the coin is the text æMissing - Disparu û VermistÆ along with the æChild FocusÆ Website.
