In 2016 it is 100 years since the famous French-speaking Belgian poet æEmile VerhaerenÆ passed away. Emile Verhaeren was a distinctive figure of the Symbolic Trend. He wrote short stories and plays, he was also a speaker. His work has been translated into almost 30 languages and this literary celebrity is even called the National Poet of Belgium. In 1911 he was nominated for the Nobel Prize for Literature, which he did not receive! On the coin is an image of Emile Verhaeren with a stack of books, an ink jar and a fountain pen on the right. Furthermore, on the top of the coin are the name of Emile Verhaeren and the years 1855 and 1916 (the period of his life). On the reverse of the coin are the value of 5 Euro along with the year 2016. The map of Europe with the famous 12 European stars is also shown. At the bottom of the coin, the country name Belgium is shown in its three official languages, German, French and Dutch. The coin is presented in a luxury wooden package. A certificate of authenticity is also incl uded. The issue of this coin is limited to just 2,000 copies!
