On February 15, 1867, the world-famous Donauwalzer was first performed. Even after 150 years, this waltz is known throughout the world. Nobody less than Johann Strauss wrote the piece æAn der Schönen Blauen DonauÆ (The Blue Danube). In this famous waltz, Austria is immediately recognized, and the timeless music is known worldwide. Because 2017 is exactly 150 years ago that this famous waltz was first heard, Austria has issued a beautiful special 5 euro coin. On this coin, Johann Strauss is depicted in accordance with his image in Vienna's Stadspark. In addition, a couple, dancing is shown. At the bottom of the coin there is a wavy note bar is displayed.
