Slovakia BU 2017 University Istropolitana

In the year 1467 King Matthias Curvinus founded the University of Istropolitana. This University based in Bratislava was the first University of Slovakia. In Greek Istropolitana is Istropolis which means a city on the Danube, Bratislava being one of these. This is the complete set of 2017 Slovakian Euro coins. As an extra coin the special 2 Euro coin 2017 University Istropolitana is packaged in this set. On the coin there are a number of sitting figures û a teacher with two students. In the background is the original building of the University of Istropolitana. This university no longer exists. On the top left of the coin is a Gold Medallion with the image of King Matthias Curvinus. In addition, the text Univerzita Istropolitana and the year 1467 are printed. At the bottom of the coin is the country name Slovensko (Slovak Republic) and the year 2017. The issue of this beautiful BU set is only 3,000 copies.
