Malta is doing this with a so-called Troika working with the previous and the next chairmen. In order to commemorate this, the first time that Malta holds the EU Presidency, Malta has issued a special 10 Euro coin. On the face of the coin is the Maltese logo of the EU presidency this is an edited eight-pointed star conforming to the cross of Malta. This logo was chosen after a competition. In the Maltese language the text "Presidenza Maltija 2017" and "Kunsill tal - Unioni Ewropea" is shown. Additionally on the face of the coin is the small written text æMalta EU 2017Æ and the value of 10 Euro.
