Slovenia 2 Euro 2017 10 years Euro in Slovenia Coloured

Several countries entered the euro-zone in 2002. Slovenia was the first of these countries to introduce the euro as a currency. This was on January 1 2007, as it is 10 years since Slovenia introduced the Euro as their currency, Slovenia has issued a special 2 euro coin. A competition was organised and the winning design of the coin was devised by the graphic designer Matej RamÜak. The chosen design is an image of a swallow because this bird is of great importance in the folklore heritage of Slovenia. It symbolizes Slovenia's progress and development. Furthermore, the text 10 let Skupne Evropske Valute (10 years of European single currency) a dot separates this text from the text æSlovenija 2017Æ. The text is coloured according to the National colours of Slovenia. In the outer ring of the coin are the 12 stars of Europe.
