Belgium 10 Euro 2018 Rubens

In the series of coins with the theme of the different periods of Art, Belgium has issued a special 10 Euro coin. The subject of the 2018 coin is the Baroque and Rococo periods. The baroque style dates from the 17th century and has its origins in Italy. The Rococo is more or less from France. The Baroque is characterized by rich decorations and the Rococo was more elegant and provided with beauty. On this 2018 Belgian 10 Euro the most famous Belgian painter Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640) is portrayed. Rubens was a gifted person who later developed into painting, especially the Antwerp Baroque style. He was known as a perfectionist who prepared each painting with sketches beforehand. On the face of the coin is a self-portrait of Rubens. Above his portrait the year 2018 is shown together with his name P.P. Rubens. At the top right is the text "Baroc & Rococo" in a quarter circle. On the reverse of the coin the map of Europe is shown within a large star. This characterizes the series of coins of the Art Periods. Around the outside of the coin the country name, Belgique - België - Belgien, is shown in the three official languages (French, Dutch and German). At the bottom of the coin is the famous Europa star. On the right side of the coin the value indication of 10 Euro is shown with the year 2018 beneath. This is very special, it almost never happens that the same year, in this case 2018, is struck both on the face as well as the reverse of the coin! The coin is presented in a luxury package and is delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
