An international competition was organized and this was won by Justas Petrulis from Lithuania. On his design the common past of the countries, the present and the future are all beautifully represented. From left to right at the top of the coin are the coloured national coats of arms of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The coloured national coats of arms, from left to right, of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are shown at the top of the coin. In the centre of the coin the number 100 is cryptically depicted. This number is coloured Blue, Black, White according to the colours of the Flag of Estonia. The golden-yellow braid star ts at the top with the coloured crests and completes at the bottom to represent the joint future of these Baltic states.
