Product Description
Titus Livius is the subject of this special 2017 Italian 2 Euro coin. Titus Livius lived in the period of BC and AD. He was a famous writer. His most important work was mapping the history of Rome. This has been a life's work for him, and comprises no less than 142 books! According to many Rome was founded in the year 753 BC. This year has been the basis for almost 1500 years. Only since about the year 800 our current calendar has been in use! Titus Livius died in the year 17, which in the year 2017 was exactly 2000 years ago. To commemorate this, Italy has issued a special 2 Euro coin. On the face of the coin is a coloured image of Titus Livius with, in the background, the Italian colours of green, white and red. On the right side of the coin are the years 17 and 2017 which are coloured in white. At the bottom of the coin is his name in Italian, Tito Livio. Tito is colured in red and Livio in green. Together with the years these again form the Italian National colours. A further 50 dots are seen in a circle. The coin is packaged in a plastic coin capsule.
