Product Description

This is the fifth Finnish 5 Euro coin from the series of nine coins which have as their theme the finest Finnish landscapes. The people of Finland were allowed to choose these and the fifth choice was the Finnish Archipelago. The Finnish Archipelago is a Labyrinthine Archipelago in the southwest of Finland. It has more islands than any other archipelago in the world, and is also considered the most beautiful Archipelago in the world. The Finnish Archipelago consists of at least 40,000 islands ranging from larger islands with beautiful meadows and lively villages to windy and wild rocky islands. The inhabited islands are connected with ferry services, bridges and dams. The most important language is Swedish and about 35,000 people live in this UNESCO area. In the outer ring of the face of the coin is an image of the archipelago. The reverse of this series of coins is the same, being a picture of the country of Finland with a dot at the bottom left indicating where the Finnish Archipelago is situated. In the outer ring of the coin is the country name Suomi (Finnish) and Finland (Swedish) along with the year 2018. The value indication of 5 Euro is also shown.
