Germany 20 Euro 2017 The Bremen Town Musicians

The 2017 German 20 Euro æBremer City MusiciansÆ is the sixth coin from the series of coins of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. In 2012 the first coin, with the double portrait of the brothers was issued. In 2013 it was Snow White, 2014 was Hansel and Gretel, 2015 was Sleeping Beauty, followed in 2016 by Red Riding Hood. The 2017 coin has the theme of the æBremer City MusiciansÆ. The fairy tale is about four animals, an ass, a dog, a cat and a rooster. These four animals escape their owners because the owners want to kill them. They leave together and work together. They see a number of robbers in a house in the woods. They climb upon each otherÆs backs and crash through a window. The robbers were frightened and ran away. On the face of the coin, designed by Elena Gerber, the four animals are shown. A Gothic window is seen in the background. At the top of the coin is the name æBremer StadsmusikantenÆ and at the bottom is the text æGrimms MärchenÆ. The designer's initials are also printed. On the reverse of the coin is the "Bundesadler" (German Eagle). At the top of the coin, the country's name Bundesrepublik Deutschland, left and right of which are the 12 stars of Europe, in two sets of six.
