Product Description

This special 10 Euro coin, from the series of ancient Greek culture, has the theme of the poetess Sappho. This poetess lived about 630 to 570 BC. She wrote lyrical poetry and is best known for her poems about love. Unfortunately, most of Sappho's work has been lost and only fragments of her estimated 10,000 pieces of work still exist! Her poetry is well-known to today and is still considered extraordinary. Given the tone and content of Sappho's work, it is said that Sappho was probably Lesbian and the name of the island of Lesbos derives from here. The obverse of the coin shows an image of Sappho. On the left side of the coin, in Greek, is the name Sappho and the years 630 and 570 BC are seen. On the right side is the year 2017. On the reverse of the coin there is a musical instrument with the Crest of Greece. The value of 10 Euro is seen in the middle of this instrument. The coin is supplied in a luxury package with a numbered certificate.
