Greece UNC 2018

This is the complete set of Euro coins from Greece 2018. The Greek 1, 2 and 5 cent coins represent the Greek ties with the sea. On the Greek 1 cent coins is an ancient Greek warship, a so-called Trireme. On the Greek 2 Cent coins is an image of a Corvette. A Corvette is a warship that was used against the Turks during the Greek independence struggle. A modern tanker is shown on the Greek 5 cent coins. On the 10 cent coins of Greece is a portrait of Rigas Fereos. In his time the writer / politician Rigas Fereos (1757 -1798) was a champion for the liberation of the Balkans and Greece. On the 20 cent coin Ioannis Kapodistrias is portrayed. He was a Count and Diplomat and was the first head of state of independent Greece from the Ottoman times. On the 50 cent coin Eleftherios Venizelos is depicted. He was the most important Greek statesman from the beginning of the 20th century. On the 1 Euro coin is the Owl of Athens. This Owl was portrayed on Greek coins for more than 2, 500 years! On the 2 Euro coin the princess "Europa" is depicted seated on a cow. Zeus fell in love with her and turned himself into a cow and kidnapped her. Several 2018 coins from Greece will not come loose into circulation.
