Lithuania 2 Euro 2018 Song and Dance Celebration Coloured

Every year the traditional Music and Dance Festival is held in Lithuania. This party takes place annually in the middle of the summer. Those who did not participate in this cannot believe it! It is hard to imagine how a choir of 20,000 people sounds, or 9,000 dancers dancing at the same time! For days there are the most diverse parts of music, folklore ensembles, Dance Day, Folk Art, Wind Orchestras, theatre, horn blowers, too many to mention. This mega-big feast is on the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage of mankind. The theme of the Music and Dance Festival of 2018 is the celebration of 100 years of Lithuania. Commemorating this Lithuania has issued a special 2 Euro coin. The purpose of the issuance of this coin is that Lithuania wants to familiarize the rest of Europe with its wonderful customs and traditions. On this beautiful coloured 2 Euro coin a number of stylized figures of people and yellow birds, that symbolize Lithuanian folk dance and song, are depicted. These coloured figures are in th e form of a paper chain, a typical Lithuanian folk genre. At the top left, in the body of a bird, the year 2018 is coloured red. At the bottom of the coin, the country name LIETUVA (Lithuania) is coloured green.
