Portugal 2 Euro 2017 150 Years Police Silvered

The Portuguese Polícia de Segurança Pública (Portuguese Police) was founded on July 2, 1867. The Polícia de Segurança Pública is commonly called the Police and has the main task of protecting citizens from all kinds of threats. The police ensure security so that PortugalÆs inhabitants can live freely and without care. The police operate in the major urban areas. Because in 2017 it was exactly 150 years ago that the Portuguese Police was founded, a special commemorative 2 Euro coin has been issued. On the coin is the silhouette of some citizens, a man and a woman, also in a cryptic style some houses are depicted to display the country and cities where the Portuguese Police work. On the left of the coin are the years 1867 and 1917 and the text Seguranca Publica and the abbreviation of the Portuguese Police PSP. At the top of the coin is the Coat of Arms of Portugal. On the right of the coin the words Direitos (Rights), Liberdades (Freedoms) and Guarantees (Guarantees) are shown. Additionally, Portugal's countr y name is printed. The coin is heavily silver plated.
