San Marino 2 Euro 2017 Sustainable Tourism Coloured

The United Nations declared 2017 as the year of æInternational Sustainable TourismÆ. Sustainable tourism can be briefly described as taking into account the local population and animals, as well as the local environment, as much as possible. Sustainable products are used as widely as possible and are environmentally friendly. In order to support the United Nations idea of sustainable tourism, San Marino has issued a special 2 Euro coin. Centrally on the coin is a stylised, living world globe designed by Canadian Andrew Lewis. On this globe are five waves representing the different continents. Each continent has its own colour û Blue, Red, Green, Black and Yellow, according to the Olympic colours. The centre of the coin is black to indicate the black earth. At the top of the coin the text æTurismo SostenibileÆ (Sustainable Tourism) is coloured purple. At the bottom of the coin the country name San Marino and the year 2017 are shown in green. This green colour is also reflected in the national colours of San Ma rino.
