San Marino 5 Euro 2017 Games of little EU Countries

The games of the small states of Europe is a two-year sporting event that the small countries of Europe participate in. One condition is that the number of inhabitants of the countries is less than 1 million. The games were first organized in 1985. Cyprus now has more than 1 million inhabitants, but itÆs population in 1985 was less than a million therefore Cyprus will be allowed to participate. In 2017 the games were held in San Marino. Nine countries participated in this sporting event. Originally, there were eight countries, but in 2011 Montenegro joined as the ninth country. The participating countries in 2017 were: Andorra, Cyprus, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro and San Marino. The games of the small countries were held from 29 May to 3 June 2017. To commemorate this San Marino has issued a special 5 Euro coin. On the face of the coin, in five circles, are athletes from the sports of cycling, volleyball, shooting, swimming and athletics. In the centre of the coin is the valu e of 5 Euro. At the top of the coin you can see the text Giochi Dei Piccoli Stati D 'Europe (Games of the Small States of Europe). At the bottom of the coin are the land name of San Marino and the year 2017. In the centre of the reverse of the coin is the San Mario Coat of Arms, with the text Repubblica di San Marino (Republic of San Marino). The coin is presented in a luxury package and is supplied with a certificate.
