Product Description
In 2015 it is 200 years since the Slovak Nationalist and Linguist Luduvit Stur was born. Ludovit Stur was the founder of the Slovak language, which he introduced in the year 1843 as an official language. Previously the Slovak language was considered a type of dialect. As the founder of the Slovak language Ludovit Stur is very important to the Slovaks, and that is why Slovakia has issued this special 2 Euro coin. The coin is beautifully coloured, choosing not to explicitly colour Ludovit Stur's face. On the left side of the coin the name Ludovit Stur is coloured in white, with the years 1815-1856 in red above it. Ludovit Stur died at the age of 41 years after a hunting accident. On the right side of the coin is the Slovensko country name in blue with the year 2015 coloured red. The red, white and blue colours indicate the colours of Slovakia, representing the nationalistic character of Slovakia. The quality of the coin is UNC (Uncirculated).
