Vatican BU 2017

We have in stock the 2017 BU set from The Vatican. The Vatican has issued Euro coins since the introduction of the Euro in 2002. The present Pope Franciscus I has decided that his image does not need to be shown on the Vatican's coins any more. With effect from 2017 his image was replaced by the Papal Coat of Arms. This Crest has been used by Franciscus I since 1991 when he became Bishop of Argentina. At the top of the crest is a mitre with the two keys of Peter. In the centre are the letters IHS of Christ with a cross above them. There are also three black nails. The star is a reference to Mary, and the grass refers to Joseph. At the bottom of the crest is the Pope's motto. This coat of arms is Miserande Atque Elegendo (Lowly but Chosen). The 2017 BU set from The Vatican comprises the entire series of 2017 Vatican Euro coins, from the normal 1 cent to the Normal 2 Euro. The Papal Coat of Arms is shown centrally in the coins encircled by the country name Citta del Vaticano . On the right-hand side of the coin is the year 2017. The coins are packed in a luxury package, with a light yellow colour chosen for 2017.
