Vatican 2 Euro 2017 Fatima Proof

The theme of this special 2017 Vatican 2 Euro coin is "100 years Fatima". On May 13, 1917, three shepherd children, Lucia dos Santos, Francisco Marto and Jacinta Marto with a small herd went to a hill called Cova da Iria, near the town of Fatima. Suddenly there was a thunderstorm and, according to the faithful, Mary appeared. She said that the children need not be frightened and that she would appear five more times in that year. This happened and there were three prophecies about the future - the Russian Revolution, the end of the First World War together with a notification of the Second World War, and the attack on Pope John Paul II. Fatima attracts four million visitors annually! On the face of the coin the three shepherd children Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta are depicted. In the background, the church of Fatima is seen.
