Vatican 20 Euro and 50 Euro 2016 Gold

These are the2016 20 Euro and 50 Euro gold coins of the Vatican. These coins are part of a three-part series of Popean delegations. The theme of the coins of 2016 is the Basilica of the Holy House of Loreto. According to tradition the bricks from Mary's house were taken by Crusaders from Nazareth to Loreto. On the face of the 20 Euro coin, Mary is seen with a child with to the left an angel. At the top of the coin the name Citta del Vaticano, and the value of 20 Euro is shown. On the reverse of the coin is the Coat of Arms of the Vatican along with the text æInternational Year of MercyÆ and the year MMXVI (2016). On the face of the 50 Euro coin is an image of the Basilica of Loreto. At the top of the coin is the country name Citta del Vaticano, and at the bottom is the value of 50 Euro. On the reverse of the coin is an image of Pope Franciscus I encircled by the text æFranciscus PP Year of MercyÆ and the year MMXVI (20160.
