Cyprus has issued in 2015 a special 5 Euro coin æAphroditusÆ (Aphrodité). Aphroditus is the goddess of love. On the face of the coin is an image of Aprhoditus according to an image that is about 2,100 years old which was discovered in Soloi, on the northern side of Cyprus. The image is missing the arms and lower legs and is exhibited in the Museum of Nicosia. In addition to this image on the face of the coin is a picture of the island of Cyprus and the value of 5 Euro. At the top of the coin is the text Aphrodité in English and in Greek. At the outer ring of both the face and reverse of the coin waves are depicted. Furthermore, on the reverse of the coin is the logo of the Central Bank of Cyprus and the country name of Cyprus in three languages û Greek, English and Turkish. The coin was designed by George Stamatopoulos who also designed the Common 2 Euro coin "30 Years European Flag". The coin is presented in a luxury package and is supplied with a numbered certificate. The quality of the coin is Silver Proof and the issue is only 4,000 copies.
