Finland 5 Euro 2016 Athletics

Finland has released a series of nine different coins with the theme Sport.The ninth and last coin of this series has the subject of Athletics. The mother of sport, as Athletics is often called is a sport that is practiced individually as well as in groups. The basis of athletics is walking, jumping and throwing. Finland has chosen a perfect moment as the date of issue for this coin, that is, at the same time as the EC Athletics held in Amsterdam. On these bimetal Finnish 5 Euro coins is a representation of a javelin thrower and a discus thrower. Furthermore a safety net is shown. The reverse of this nine-coin series is the same for every coin. An athletics stadium filled with cheering people is depicted. Additionally the curves of an athletics track are shown. In the centre of the coin is the country name Suomi (Finnish) and Finland (Swedish) along with the year 2016 and the value of 5 Euro.
