Product Description
Otto Dix (02.12.1891 û 25.07.1969) was a famous Graphic German painter. He was a painter of modern art streams of the early 20th century and his works, for that time, were known as controversial. This was often revealed in his works. In the year 2016, it was 125 years since Otto Dix was born, and to commemorate this Germany has issued a special 20 euro coin. On the face of the coin is a self-portrait from 1922. A picture of his painting, the Modern Dancers, is also depicted along with his signature. At the bottom of the coin is the text 125. Geburtstag Otto Dix. On the reverse of the coin is the German Eagle in a style like Dix would have painted. At the top of the coin is country name Bundesrepublik Deutschland below which to the left are 6 of the stars of Europe and on the right are the other 6 European stars. Below the eagle is the value of 20 Euro. The coin is from the Karlsruhe (G) mint. Printed on the edge of the coin is DU MUSST ALL SELBER SEIN (YOU MUST BE ALL SELF).
