Aristophanes lived from ca. 445 to 385 BC. Aristophanes is considered the most important writer of comic plays of his time. He also criticized the leaders of the time, who went too far with the democracy. He lived in the same time as Socrates with whom he was friends, but he criticized Socrates at the same time! A total of 11 almost complete pieces of his estimated folio of 40 works have been preserved. On the value side of the coin are two images of Aristophanes, to the left he appears slightly angry whilst to the left he appears laughing. The value indication of 10 Euro is also shown. On the other side of the coin, the image of Aristophanes is depicted in a comical manner. The year 2015 is also shown. The coin is presented in a luxurious package and is supplied with a numbered certificate. The issue of this coin is only 1,500 copies.
