Product Description
At the beginning of 1966, in Athens, television was first broadcast in Greece. Lasting two hours it was seen by about 2,000 viewers. Television in those years was controlled by the Greek Junta and was a strict state television. The Greek TV has long been a state television. At the end of the 1980's, the first colour broadcasts were seen. Today, television is present in every Greek household in all its modern forms and types û i.e. digital, web, interactive etc. On the face of the coin is a traditional TV test image. On the reverse of the coin there are a number of antenna masts with antennas attached to them. Interestingly there is a combination of VHF and UHF antennas on one mast. The first TV shows were broadcast on VHF! At the top of the coin, in Greek, the text shows "2016 50 years of television in Greece". In the centre circle of the coin the value of 6 Euro is shown with the Greek text æGreek DemocracyÆ. The coin is presented in a luxury package and is delivered with a numbered certificate. The issue of this coin is extremely low, just 1,500 copies!
