Product Description
In 2016 it has been 2,200 years since the famous comedy playwright Titus Maccius Plautus (about 251 BC - about 184 BC) died. Plautus was renowned for the powerful style of his humorous and vibrant work. He wrote his best-known works after losing his money. By writing a number of funny and happy plays that were very successful he earned a lot of money. On the coin you can see a fragment of a comic play, a young woman with a slave. This mosaic hangs in a museum in Rome. The coin is perfectly coloured according to the original artwork. At the bottom of the coin the years 184 a.c. (BC) and 2016 along with the name Plauto (Plautus) are displayed. These are coloured in the Italian colours of red and green.
