Product Description
The Italian Red Cross was founded on June 1 1866. The Red Cross originally had a military character. It is mostly used today to provide humanitarian aid in war and disaster areas. To commemorate the creation of the Italian Red Cross 150 years ago, Italy has issued a special 5 euro coin. It is the first time an Italian 5 Euro coin has been coloured, in this case the Red Cross itself is coloured. This is depicted on the face of the coin, where the logo of the Red Cross Military Corps is also displayed. In Latin the motto is æInter Arma CaritasÆ. At the top of the coin is the country name Repubblica Italiana (Republic of Italy). On the reverse of the coin, a soldier of the Italian Red Cross is engaged in a humanitarian mission. Furthermore the texts "Croce Rossa Italiana" and "Corpo Militaire" are printed. The years 1866 and 2016 as well as the value of 5 Euro are also shown. The coin is packed in the same package in which the special 2 Euro coins of San Marino will be packed. The quality of the coin is BU (Bril liant Uncirculated).
