Luxembourg has issued a coin for the first time with a nominal value of 2.5 Euro! The theme of this special coin is the æMusée d'Art Modern Grand Duc JeanÆ, or æMUDAMÆ. This museum of modern art was opened in 2006. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of this museum, developed by the Chinese architect Ming Pei, Luxembourg has issued a very special 2.5 Euro coin. The coin is square-shaped but at the same the sides are curved. On the face of the coin is an image of the museum which is located in the Kirchberg district of Luxembourg. The Museum is only 100 meters from the Charlotte Bridge! At the top of the coin is the text æMusée d'Art Modern Grand Duc JeanÆ and on the left side of the coin is the value of 2.50 Euro. On the reverse of the coin is the year 2016 with the name Letzebuerg (Luxembourg). In addition there is an image of the Grand Duke's face looking to the right. The coin is presented in a beautiful light-blue luxury package.
