Product Description
The Cante Alentejano (Alentejo song) originates in the southern part of the province of Alentejo. Men in the fields sang a capella of their typical songs. The songs were about traditional subjects such as rural life, nature, love, and social and cultural subjects. The songs are passed on generation to generation. The Cante Alentejano has a monotonous character when listening to it. Since 2014 the Cante Alentejano is on the UNESCO list of immaterial cultural heritage of humanity. As a result Portugal has issued a special coin with a nominal value of 2.5 Euro. On the face of the coin are four images with typical hats. This style is called Neo Realism. In addition, the text æCante AlentejanoÆ (Alentejo song) is shown along with the text "Patrimônio imaterial da humanidade Unesco". On the reverse of the coin are three facial images with the same typical hats as on the front. The coat of arms of Portugal and the value of 2,5 Euro are also shown. To the right side are the country name of Portugal and the year 2016.
