This is the first Portuguese coin from a series of coins that have Sport as the theme. World-famous Portuguese football player Eusebio (1942-2014) is the first athlete to be shown on the first coin of this series. Eusebio, full name Eusébio da Silva Ferreira, came as a 19-year-old young man from Portuguese Mozambique to Portugal, playing almost his entire football career at Benfica. Eusebio won the Europacup with Benfica and became a top scorer several times. He also won the golden boot twice. On the face of the coin is an image of Eusebio taking a devastating shot. Furthermore, the coat of arms of Portugal and the value of 7.5 Euro are shown. On the reverse of the coin the head of Eusebio is depicted. On the left side is the country name Portugal and the year 2016. On the right side of the coin the name Eusébio is shown.
