Product Description
On October 3, 2015 it is 25 years since Germany was officially reunited. After the Second World War Germany was divided into two regions, West Germany and East Germany (German Democratic Republic). In 1989 the wall fell and, after a separation of 28 years, the two halves of Germany were officially reunited on 3 October 1990. To commemorate this San Marino has issued this special 2 Euro coin. On the coin, the best known symbol of Germany, the æBrandenburg GateÆ, is depicted. The Brandenburg Gate is mirrored, symbolically representing two hands that slide together, that is, an East German hand and a West German hand. On the upper part of the coin is the text "25 Anniversario della Riunifacazione" slightly inside of which is the text "Della Germania 1990 - 2015". At the bottom of the coin is the country name San Marino followed by the year 2015 in Roman numerals (MMXV). This coin is subtly coloured in the colours of San Marino which are light blue and white. This is also interspersed in the text, partly light bl ue and partly white, in the two halves of the coin. The colours of the Brandenburg Gate are as original as possible, like the green images on the top of the Gate.
