|Theme||Jaar van de Barmhartigheid|
|Category||Bijzondere overige euromunten|
In connection with the end of the æYear of MercyÆ on December 8, 2016, San Marino has issued a special 5 euro coin. This is a unique coin as it's the first time that San Marino has issued a bimetallic coin (Bronze with cupro-nickel). On the face of the coin are the typical elements of San Marino, the three towers with the feathers, the light rays and the word Libertas. In addition, the 12 stars of Europe and the name of San Marino are displayed. On the reverse of the coin, is an image of a mother protecting her child with her right hand after being rescued from the sea as a refugee. In the centre of the coin, a number of war refugees are depicted along with the open Holy Door. At the top of the coin the dove of peace with an olive branch is displayed. The value of 5 Euro is also printed. We supply this coin in a Lighthouse coin holder. The Lighthouse coin holder has been printed by us so you can immediately see which coin is packed within. We pack all of our 2 euro coins in printed coin holders. We know it's an expensive way of packing, but our customers are always assured of a perfect product!
