Slovakia 2 Euro 2016 Presidency of the EU Coincard
Slovakia has been a member of the EU since 2004. In 2009, Slovakia introduced the Euro. From 1 July 2016 to 31 December 2016, Slovakia holds the EU Presidency. For Slovakia this is such a special event that they have issued a special 2 Euro coin. On the coin there are a number of dynamic lines radiating from the centre of the coin. These lines indicate the importance and position of Slovakia during its first EU presidency. On the left side of the coin is the coat of arms of Slovakia and the year 2016. At the top of the coin is the country name Slovensko (Slovak Republic) along with the Slovak text æPREDSEDNÍCTVO SR V RADE EÚÆ (Slovak Presidency of the Council of Europe). The coin is presented in a beautiful numbered coincard. On the front of the Coincard is a beautiful landscape of Slovakia. In addition the country name, the year, the value and the coat of arms of Slovakia are printed on the front of the Coincard. On the back of the Coincard are the coincard number and the technical description of the coin. The explanation of how and when Slovakia supplies the EU president, and what its powers are during the EU presidency are printed.
