Product Description

This is the Coincard with the special 2018 Luxembourg 2 Euro "150 Years Constitution". The special feature of this Coincard is that on the coin the Dutch Mint Master, mark the æServaasbrugÆ, is printed. This is only the case with the Coincards, there are only 7,500 coins struck with this mint master sign! About 150 years ago it was a turbulent time in Europe. The Dutch parliament came into conflict with King William III and there was a discussion about Dutch Limburg and Luxembourg. The Luxembourg constitution of 1868 was adopted on 17 October 1868 and Limburg became part of The Netherlands. From that time is still the fact that in Limburg a Commissioner of the King is a Governor. The Grand Duke of Luxembourg had a lot of power in accordance with this constitution. He could appoint and sack the parliament, adopt and refuse laws. This was a special situation in 2008 concerning the euthanasia arrangement in Luxembourg. To commemorate that in 2018 the Luxembourg Constitution is exactly 150 years old Luxembourg has issued a special 2 Euro coin. On the face of the coin Grand Duke Henri is portrayed looking diagonally to the right. Furthermore, the years 1868 and 2018, together with the text "150 Ans Constitution Du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg" (150 years of the Constitution of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg), are shown. Additionally the cross-section of an opened book is depicted. It is worth noting that the mint mark has changed with effect from the year 2018, the Dutch Mint master sign the Servaasbrug is seen above the year 2018. The coin is packaged by us in an airtight Leuchtturm coin holder. We pack almost all UNC coins in printed coin holders. The customer can then immediately see which country and which year it is. As written in the first article, the circulation of this coin with the mint mark the Servaasbrug is only 7,500 copies.
