Slovakia 2 Euro 2017 Istropolitana Silvered

In the year 1467 King Matthias Curvinus founded the University of Istropolitana. This University was the first University of Slovakia, based in Bratislava. Istropolitana is called in Greek Istropolis which means a city on the River Danube of which Bratislava is one. In the year 2017 it is 550 years since this University was founded. To commemorate this Slovakia has issued a special 2 Euro coin. On the coin are a number of sitting figures û a teacher with two students. In the background is the building of the University of Istropolitana. This university no longer exists. At the top left of the coin is a Medallion with the image of King Matthias Curvinus. In additio, the text Univerzita Istropolitana and the year 1467 can be seen. At the bottom of the coin the country name Slovensko (Slovak Republic) and the year 2017 are shown. The coin is completely silver-plated!
