The Wiener Philharmoniker is an Austrian Symphony Orchestra which was founded in 1842. It is one of the most famous orchestras in Austria. The Wiener Philharmoniker have for years been the name giver of a special Austrian Euro coin, the 1.5 euro Wiener Philharmoniker. This special coin has a weight of a Troy Ounce. A Troy Ounce is 31.1 grams and is a popular unit of weight in precious metals. The face of the coin shows a number of instruments played by the members of the Vienna Philharmonic, such as a few violins, a bass, a harp, a horn and a clarinet. At the top of the coin is the name 'Wiener Philharmoniker' (Vienna Philharmonic). On the reverse of the coin is the organ in the centre of the golden hall of the Viennese Music Association. Above that is the country name 'Republik Oesterreich' (Republic of Austria). At the bottom is the text '1 Unze Feinsilber' (1 Troy Ounce pure silver) with the year 2019. Also at the bottom of the coin is the value indication of 1.50 Euro. This is the Christmas edition of the Wiener Philharmoniker, the coin is packaged in an attractive blister.
