Austria 10 Euro 2020 Bravery Copper

Austria is issuing a series of five 10 Euro coins that are dedicated to the knights. This third coin of this series is dedicated to bravery and courage. Knights belonged to the military elite and were considered the most powerful fighters in the Middle Ages. Honour, loyalty, generosity, honesty and strength were the standards of the knights. Bravery and courage are two words that should not be missing. Knights fought to protect what was dear to them and feared practically nothing, and thus did not shy away from anything. Many knights strove for peace, this also requires a lot of courage. On the face of the coin a knight is depicted with his sword drawn. Next to the knight is a shield, held by a dragon, with the symbol of the Knights Templar. At the top of the coin the value indication of 10 Euro is shown. At the bottom of the coin is the country name 'Republik Osterreich' (Republic of Austria) together with the year of issue, 2020. On the reverse of the coin is a battle scene with a knight in the foreground holding a spear. In addition, in the background, two knights on horseback are shown trying to pierce the front line with lances. This is the copper version of the 10 Euro coin as described. It is packed in a printed coin holder.
