Product Description
This is the third coin of the Austrian coins series with the theme 'Dinosaurs'. The subject of this coin is the Arambourgiania (one of the largest of the azhdarchids). The Arambourgiania belonged to the group of Pterosaurs, the largest flying animals that have ever lived. The Arambourgiania could grow over 12 metres long and had a neck as long as a giraffe's. The Arambourgiania had a gigantic wingspan and could fly continuously for thousands of miles. They died out around the Cretaceous period about 66 million years ago. The striking thing about these Arambourgiania was that they used their wings as legs, which made them very manoeuvrable on land. On the obverse of the coin an Arambourgiania is depicted in flight. In the background his companion is shown in a primeval landscape. At the bottom of the coin is the name of this dinosaur 'Arambourgiania' together with the year of issue, 2020. The reverse of this series of coins is always the same, i.e. an image of the dinosaurs of this series. Furthermore, the country name 'Republik Österreich' (Republic of Austria) and the value indication of 3 Euro are shown encircling these images. The coin is packed in a printed coin holder.
