Belgium Coincard '1 Franc 1950 - 1988 Netherlands & French'. For the first time in its history, Belgium has issued a coincard containing a historic Belgian coin! A 1 Franc coin is mounted in this coincard. The design of this 1 Franc coin remained unchanged for 38 years! During the reigns of both Prince Charles and King Baudouin I this coin was used as a means of payment. The face of the coin shows Ceres (the Roman Goddess of Agriculture), the Horn of Plenty (Cornucopia) and the year of issue. The reverse of the coin shows a crowned oak leaf between 1 and FR (denoting the value of 1 franc). The coin is mounted in a beautiful coincard and has a mintage of only 2,000 copies. A total of 33 different coincards are available, (NB - from 1982 to 1987 the 1 Franc coins were not minted), of which fewer than 5 copies were made! Here a coin from a random year will be received!
