Belgium 20 Euro 2020 The Inner City of Bruges

Belgium has issued a 20 Euro coin with the theme 'The Inner City of Bruges'. Bruges is one of the oldest cities in Belgium and its origins date back to the year 889. Bruges is the capital of the Belgian province of West Flanders and has approximately 120,000 inhabitants. The historic centre of Bruges was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List 20 years ago and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year! On the face of the coin is the Belfry of Bruges, which itself has been on the World Heritage List of UNESCO since 1999. The canals that flow through the centre of Bruges are also depicted. Bruges has many arch bridges that are reminiscent of Venice! The text '20 YEARS HISTORICAL BRUGES' is displayed on the left of the coin. On the reverse of the coin the map of the European Union is shown. In a semi-circle to the right is the text 'België - Belgique - Belgien', Belgium's country name in its three official languages - Dutch, French and German. The 12 stars of Europe are also shown on the coin. Furthermore, the value indication of 20 Euro is displayed together with the year of issue, 2020. Additionally, the mint master's sign and the mint mark are displayed. The coin is presented in a luxury cassette and is supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
