Belgium 5 Euro 2020 Suske en Wiske

Suske en Wiske (Bob and Bobette) is a Belgian comic series written by Willy Vandersteen, his first works were first published in 1945. The comic books are often humorous with a social theme regularly used. In addition, the cartoons of Suske and Wiske are full of adventures and they travel all over the world. From 1971 Paul Geerts took over the comic strip, and from 2020 Marc Verhaegen writes these well-known comics. It has been 75 years since the Suske and Wiske strips were first published, which is why the Belgian mint has decided to issue a special 5 Euro coin. On the face of this 5 Euro coin Suske and Wiske are depicted being carried away by the spirit of Sus Antigoon. Also, around the edge of the coin is the text 'Suske en Wiske' - 'Bob and Bobette' and '75 ans' (75 years). On the reverse of the coin the map of Europe is shown together with the text 'Belgien, Belgique and België' (the country name of Belgium in its three official languages - German, French and Dutch). The value indication of 5 Euro is also shown along with the year 2020. The Belgian mint marks are also displayed. The coin is mounted in a beautiful Coincard.
