France 10 Euro 2017 Auguste Rodin

Auguste Rodin was a famous French sculptor. He was born in 1840 and passed away in 1917. He was one of the most famous ærealistÆ artists. Well-known works by Auguste Rodin are æHells GateÆ, æThe KissÆ and æThe ThinkerÆ. 2017 sees the 100th anniversary of the death of Auguste Rodin. To commemorate this, as well as the special 2 Euro coin, a 10 Euro silver coin has been issued. On the face of the coin is an image of his most famous work æThe ThinkerÆ. On the right side of the coin is an image of Auguste Rodin with his characteristic beard. The dates of 1917 and 2017 are also shown. On the right hand side of the coin, is his signature æA. RodinÆ. At the centre of the reverse of the coin is the value of 10 Euro encircled by the text République Française (Republic of France). Oak leaves and laurel leaves are also prominent. There are also a number of hexagons to indicate the contours of France. The coin is in UNC quality and is packaged in a printed coin holder.
