Italy 2 Euro 2019 Leonardo da Vinci Coloured

Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) is one of the most famous people of antiquity who was known as a true genius. He died 500 years ago. Leonardo da Vinci was a painter, writer, physicist, chemist, engineer, philosopher, inventor, architect and so on! Leonardo da Vinci painted a lot but did not finish many of his works. Of the paintings that he did finish, the best-known are 'The Mona Lisa' and 'The Last Supper'. A less well-known painting that he painted in 1489-1490 is "The Lady with the Ermine". In this painting a woman is shown holding an ermine. An ermine comes from the family of the marten-like predators that are found all over the world. Ermine look like weasels and polecats. This Leonardo da Vinci painting is in the National Museum of Krakow. On this 2019 Italian 2 Euro coin 'Leonardo da Vinci' a detail of the painting 'The Lady with the Ermine' is attractively coloured.
