Product Description
This is the 2020 Spanish coloured 2 Euro coin. Spain has been issuing a 2 Euro coin every year since 2010 that focus on a building from a specific region. The theme of this coin is the Mudejar architecture of Aragon, which was developed at the end of the 12th century in the province of Aragon. When, in the 12th century, Christians reclaimed large tracts of land from the Muslim population, the population remained in harmony with each other. The architectural style that emerged is a mix of Islamic and Gothic ideals and led to a unique architectural style. There are 10 monuments in the province of Aragon, four of which are in Teruel and three in Zaragoza. The Mudejar Architecture of Aragon was awarded UNESCO status in 1986 and is a World Heritage Site. On the face of this coloured 2 Euro coin is the tower 'de El Salvador' located in Teruel. In a semi-circle at the top of the coin is the text 'Arquitectura Mudejar de Aragon' (the Mudejar Architecture of Aragon). The country name ESPAÑA (Spain) is displayed vertically on the left and the year of issue, 2020, is shown on the right. This coloured 2 Euro is packed in a coin capsule.
