Product Description

On December 10, 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations. This declaration is, to this day, of great service especially for basic human rights. The UDHR is used as a charter for many new international treaties and is, among other things, incorporated into the constitutions of various countries. The UDHR also serves as the basis for many organizations such as Amnesty International. To commemorate the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights 70 years ago, Andorra has issued a special 2 Euro coin. The UDHR is integrated in Article 5 of the Constitution of Andorra. On the face of the coin a tree is depicted in a modern and artistic manner. The branches are in the form of blocks and the tree has 30 leaves. In the trunk of the tree is the name of Andorra with the year 2018. Encircling the tree is the Andorran text "70 Anys de la Declaracio Universal dels drets Humans" (70 years Universal Declaration of Human Rights). The coin is mounted in a colourful coin card. Each coin card is provided with a unique number.
