Andorra 2 Euro 2019 "600 Years of the Parliament of Andorra"

The 2019 2 Euro coin from Andorra '600 years of Parliament of Andorra' (also known as the Council of the Land) is the second 2 Euro coin that Andorra issued in 2019. In 1419 the Council of the Land (Consell de la Terra) was established to address problems in the parishes of Andorra. Andorra has seven parishes that all consist of a number of villages. Almost every parish has its own holiday. The parishes also have their own folk festivals that usually last 2 days! Tax policy differs from parish to parish in Andorra, something that is often unthinkable in other countries. Elections are held every 4 years in Andorra and 2 members are elected in each parish. These 14 members form half of the parliament of Andorra. The Andorran Parliament consists of 28 seats, the other half (14) of which being elected through a system of proportional representation. On the face of the coin a number of people who represent part of the parliament are depicted. In the centre is the Andorran coat of arms. In an arc is the text '600 ANYS DEL CONSELL DE LA TERRA' (600 years Parliament of Andorra). The country name ANDORRA is also displayed. At the bottom of the coin are the dates 1419 and 2019. The coin is mounted in a Coincard. Each coincard has a unique number and the circula tion is only 60,000.
