Andorra 2 Euro 2020 '50 Years of Women's Suffrage in Andorra'

This is Andorra's 2 Euro 2020 with the theme æ50 Years of Women's Suffrage in AndorraÆ. Women's suffrage gives all women of 18 years or older passive and active suffrage. This means that in a democracy men are equal to women and women have the legal right to vote and be elected. In the 19th century it was unthinkable worldwide that women were allowed to vote, something that is impossible to comprehend today. It differs per country when women were given the right to vote, in Andorra women were given the right to vote 50 years ago in 1970, which is why Andorra has decided to issue a special 2 Euro coin with this as its subject. On the face of the coin a woman is depicted with her rights in her hair. Furthermore, written in circle form, is the text æ50 ANYS DEL SUFRAGI UNIVERSAL FEMENIÆ (50 Years of Women's Suffrage). At the bottom of the coin is the country name, Andorra, together with the year of issue, 2020. This coin is mounted in the standard coincard of Andorra, the circulation of which is only 60,000 copies.
